After making her debut in 2018, Camille Kostek has made splashing returns year after year including her cover in 2019 and most recently her feature in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue. For her sixth consecutive appearance, the Connecticut native traveled down to the Dominican Republic and was photographed by James Macari on various parts of the island nation.
“The cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, that photo put me on the map internationally in 2019,” Kostek told SI. “It literally changed my life. Whenever I’m feeling lost or looking for a new direction or not sure where I’m going to go next in life, that photo [is a] reminder of all the things I had to get through personally to be in a space where I could glow and be recognized.”

With her growing career as a model, TV host and designer for her own jewelry and swimsuit collection, Kostek has reflected on the earlier days of her professional endeavors including her cover.
“That photo means so much more to me than being in a bikini,” Kostek said, noting that she is proud of “the message that it has sent out” and the people it has “allowed [her] to connect with.”
Using the platform she has created, Kostek is an advocate for body positivity and self-love. The cover model continuously encourages for others to chase their dreams, embrace themselves and to follow her #NeverNotDancing motto.
